Made by The Beeswax Wrap Company

What are Beeswax Wraps?

Beeswax wrap is a reusable and sustainable alternative to single-use storage wraps, like cling film or tin foil.

These wraps are handmade in the UK using organic GOTS (Global Organise Textile Standard) certified cotton, Pine Resin, organic Jojoba Oil and locally sourced UK Beeswax. Plus they come in super cute patterns.

They are fine for up to a month in the freezer. We make our own bread from scratch and they're great to freeze an extra loaf!

What makes them eco-friendly?

  • 100% natural
  • Reusable - unlike cling film or tin foil
  • Biodegradable -  once you have used your wrap to the max you can pop it on your compost or you can twist up and use as a firelighter

What's the cost difference?

Cling film is cheap. So this is a product where you need to think long term. Cling film is single-use plastic and terrible for the environment but you will generally pay about 5p per meter.

You have to use your beeswax wrap 444 times before it starts being cheaper than cling film. However, they do last up to a year and beyond if you care for them and keep the wax refreshed which makes 444 times look more possible.

It's also worth mentioning the impact of plastic-based materials on human health. For years now studies have been conducted on the leeching of BPA chemicals into our food and drink through plastic. Guess what doesn't contain all those nasties and won't be harmful to the environment? Beeswax wrap!

Give it a go, you'll be buzzing.

Product care

After use, wash your Beeswax Wrap with mild dish washing soap and cold water, and then let it hang to dry. You can store your wrap in a drawer or on the counter.

Every few months we recommend you refresh and re-set your Beeswax Wrap. The lovely ladies over at The Beeswax Wrap Company have created a video guide to show you this process. Please note this process is for electric ovens only, Beeswax Wraps should not be placed near naked flames, so are not suitable for refreshing in gas ovens.

For refreshing your wraps with an iron, check out this video instead.

After about a year you may notice your wraps become more like fabric. This is perfectly normal and you can bring them back to life with a Wax Refresher Block.

Please note these wraps are not suitable for use in the microwave.
