How To Use

To descale a kettle: Half fill with water and bring to the boil. Add 2 tbsp of citric acid and leave to stand until cool. Rinse well before using again.

To descale the toilet: Add warm water to the bowl, then add 2 tbsp and leave for one hour. Flush to finish.

For bathroom cleaning: Dissolve 1 tbsp per 500ml of water. Spray on, leave for 30 seconds, then wipe down with a damp cloth.

Do not use on natural stone surfaces. Always test on an inconspicuous area first.

Please note: citric acid can become clumpy when exposed to air - it's still perfectly fine to use, just break it up with a spoon before measuring out.

How To Order The Right Amount

Our quantity dropdown is designed so you can order the exact amount your container needs - rather than being locked into fixed sizes. Options available: 50ml, 100ml, 200ml, 300ml, 400ml, 500ml and 1L. Combine as many as you need to match your container size.

Example: A 750ml jar needs 1x 500ml + 1x 200ml + 1x 50ml.

Topping up a part-empty container? Either estimate the amount you need and order that, or order a full amount and leave a note at checkout asking us to refund any unused. We'll weigh and refill, then refund the difference.

Note: We use scales to measure refills on a 1g = 1ml basis - there may be slight variations between products.

How To Place Your Order

Order via the website as normal, or message us by WhatsApp or email the day before (or earlier) your usual delivery date.

For example: "Hi Dan, please can I book in for refills tomorrow? I need citric acid and washing up liquid - please refill my containers fully. I'll leave them on the doorstep, thanks!"

We'll book you in, refill your containers, and send an email invoice for the amount refilled.

Delivery Information

Local delivery only - this product is not available for nationwide shipping.

Delivery is £1.50 per order for standard delivery areas, or £3 per order for extended radius areas (minimum order £15). Please check our Refill Delivery Information page for your postcode, delivery day and to see which rate applies to you.

Please leave your clean, empty (or part-empty) containers outside in a safe place on your delivery day. We'll refill and return them.

FAQs

What can I use citric acid for?
It's most commonly used for descaling kettles and toilets, and as a bathroom surface cleaner. It's particularly effective against limescale and works without any harsh chemicals.

Is citric acid safe to use around the home?
Yes - it's a naturally occurring acid found in citrus fruits and is far gentler than most chemical descalers. Avoid use on natural stone surfaces such as marble or limestone, as it can cause etching.

Is refill citric acid available for nationwide delivery?
The refill service is local delivery only, but we do stock a nationwide delivery version if you're outside our area. Check our Refill Delivery Information page to see if local delivery covers you.
