Baking Paper - Unbleached, Chlorine-Free
- In stock, ready to ship
Totally chlorine-free (TCF) unbleached parchment baking paper - no toxic dioxins produced in manufacturing, and significantly more paper per roll than standard brands. 19.8m x 33cm.
Most baking paper is bleached using chlorine, which produces dioxins - highly carcinogenic chemicals that are released into waterways during the production process. This paper is totally chlorine-free from start to finish, which means none of that ends up in rivers and streams.
It's also notably better value by length - 19.8m per roll versus the 30-45 sq ft (roughly 9-14m) typical of most supermarket brands.
Use for lining baking trays, cake tins and roasting dishes, or for wrapping food. Suitable for baking, roasting and reheating. Can be reused several times if it hasn't been in contact with raw meat.
Why does chlorine in paper production matter?
When chlorine is used to bleach paper it produces dioxins - toxic chemicals that are carcinogenic and persist in the environment for a long time.
They're released into waterways during the manufacturing process.
Totally chlorine-free production avoids this entirely.
Is unbleached paper safe to use with food?
Yes - unbleached simply means the paper hasn't been whitened with chlorine.
It performs exactly the same as bleached baking paper for all cooking purposes.
How does the roll length compare to standard brands?
At 19.8m this roll contains considerably more paper than most supermarket alternatives, which typically offer 9-14m per roll.
Better value and fewer rolls to get through.
