Eco-friendly gift boxes from independent UK makers

Pear Post comes from The Pear, our zero-waste shop in Clare, Suffolk. We're Dan and Gab, and every box is filled with things we already stock and love: Suffolk honey from Number Eighteen, Norfolk chocolate from GNAW, olives and nuts from Olives Et Al in Dorset, cocktails from Edmunds and plenty more from small makers around the UK.

We pack each box by hand. The packaging is plastic-free and fully recyclable, right down to the paper tape, so there's nothing to feel guilty about once it's opened. It's a hamper without the wicker basket or the shrink wrap.

Your message is handwritten on a note, never printed, and there's no invoice or price inside, so you can send a box straight to the person it's for. Standard delivery is free on every box with Royal Mail Tracked 48.

If none of our boxes is quite right, build your own. Pick four to six items at the same price as in our shop, with no markup, plus £12 for the box, packing, handwritten note and tracked delivery.

Pear Post questions

How much is delivery and how long does it take?

Standard delivery is free on every Pear Post box and goes by Royal Mail Tracked 48, which takes 2-4 business days. Express (Royal Mail Tracked 24) is £4.99 and takes 1-2 business days. Same Day Dispatch is £8.99 when you order before 12pm. We deliver to all UK addresses, including the Highlands, Islands and Northern Ireland.

When do I need to order for Christmas?

Order by Thursday 17th December for free Tracked 48 delivery, or by Friday 18th December with Express. Same Day Dispatch is available until midday on Monday 21st December. These dates follow Royal Mail's last recommended posting dates, so the earlier you order, the better.

What happens if a box contains alcohol?

Boxes with alcohol in them need someone aged 18 or over to be there to accept the delivery, so send them somewhere a grown-up will be in.

Can I send a box straight to the person it's for?

Yes. Just enter their address at checkout. There's no invoice or price in the box, and your handwritten message goes in before we seal it.

Can I choose what goes in the box?

Yes. With build your own you pick four to six items from independent UK makers at shop prices, and we pack them into one box for £12, which covers the box, packing, handwritten note and tracked delivery.
