The Norfolk PX – Whisky Liqueur 20% | The English Distillery

Sweet, sumptuous Norfolk-made whisky liqueur with PX sherry richness – a proper after-dinner treat.

The Norfolk PX is created at The English Distillery in Roudham, Norfolk, using Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry that’s previously been used to season their whisky barrels. Rather than letting that flavour go to waste, the distillers turn it into something seriously indulgent: a rich, dessert-leaning whisky liqueur with deep dried-fruit sweetness and a warming whisky backbone.

Drink it over ice as a dessert/digestif, drizzle it over ice cream, or use a splash in place of sugar in an Old Fashioned for extra depth.

  • Made in Norfolk by The English Distillery (independent, family-owned)
  • ABV: 20% | Bottle size: 50cl
  • Flavour: Raisins, figs, dates, dark chocolate, manuka honey, coffee and a hint of liquorice candy
  • Serving ideas: Over ice, over ice cream, or as an Old Fashioned twist (swap in a splash instead of sugar)
  • Awards: Great Taste 3 Stars 2025; Golden Fork (From England) 2025; Great British Food Awards Gold 2025; IWSC Silver (92/100) 2025

FAQs

What does “PX” mean?
PX stands for Pedro Ximénez (often written Pedro Ximenez), a richly sweet style of sherry known for raisiny, figgy dried-fruit flavours.

What does The Norfolk PX taste like?
Bold sweetness with raisins, figs, dates and dark chocolate, with depth from manuka honey, coffee and a hint of liquorice. It’s rich and syrupy on the palate, finishing with lingering sweet raisins and dates.

How should I serve it?
Best over plenty of ice as an after-dinner pour. It’s also delicious over ice cream, or used as a cocktail shortcut by adding a splash in place of sugar in an Old Fashioned.

Is this a whisky or a liqueur?
It’s a whisky liqueur: sweeter and more dessert-like than a standard whisky, designed for sipping, puddings and cocktail twists.
