Beechwood Toothbrush - Georganics

An FSC-certified beechwood toothbrush with a snap-off head and a zero-to-landfill recycling scheme - so even the bristles don't end up in the bin.

The handle is sustainably sourced beechwood - compostable at end of life, with every tree cut down replanted and excess wood used to heat the factory. The snap-off head uses BPA-free nylon bristles, which can be freposted back to Georganics for recycling via their Terracycle partnership.

Available in soft, medium, firm and children's sizes.

  • FSC-certified beechwood handle - compostable

Bristle Guide

Soft - Charcoal-infused BPA-free nylon bristles. Effectively removes plaque and tartar without damaging gums. Dentists recommend soft bristles for most people.

Medium - BPA-free nylon bristles. Effectively removes plaque and tartar without damaging gums.

Firm - BPA-free nylon bristles for thorough plaque and tartar removal. Avoid brushing the gums with firm bristles.

Children's - Shorter handle and reduced-size soft bristles, ideal for small teeth and mouths. Suitable for deciduous and early permanent teeth.

Zero-To-Landfill Scheme

Wooden toothbrush handles are biodegradable - but the nylon bristles aren't. Most local recycling centres won't accept them due to their small size, so they typically end up in landfill.

Georganics solves this with their Freepost recycling scheme via Terracycle:

  1. Snap off the toothbrush head when it's worn out
  2. Save up at least four heads
  3. Send them in a large envelope addressed to FREEPOST GEORGANICS - no stamp needed

Product Care

Rinse after use and store upright or hang to dry between uses - this helps the bristles and handle last longer. Dentists recommend replacing your toothbrush every three months.

FAQs

Are wooden toothbrushes fully biodegradable?
The handle is - but the bristles are nylon, which isn't biodegradable. That's exactly why the Georganics Freepost scheme exists - so the bristles can be recycled rather than going to landfill.

Which bristle hardness should I choose?
Dentists generally recommend soft bristles for most people - they're effective at removing plaque while being gentle on gums. Medium is a good middle ground, and firm is best suited to those who prefer a more vigorous clean but should be kept away from the gum line.

Is this suitable for children?
Yes - the children's variant has a shorter handle and smaller bristle head designed for small teeth and mouths. The bristles are soft and BPA-free.
