Handmade Olive Wood Soap Dish

A hand-carved soap dish made in Germany from a single piece of olive wood - with draining grooves to keep your bars dry between uses and extend their life. Each dish is completely unique.

The wood comes from retired olive trees that are no longer producing olives - giving the timber a genuinely useful second life rather than going to waste. Because each dish is carved by hand from a single piece of wood, no two are identical in grain, colour or exact shape. Approximate length is 12cm, but expect natural variation.

Product Care

Rinse and dry after use. Occasionally applying a small amount of food-grade oil (such as olive or coconut oil) to the surface will help maintain the wood and prevent it from drying out over time. Do not soak in water or leave in a damp environment for extended periods.

Will my dish look exactly like the photo?
No - each dish is hand-carved from a unique piece of olive wood, so the grain, colouring and exact shape will vary. That's part of what makes each one special rather than a limitation.

Why olive wood specifically?
Olive wood from retired trees is a by-product of orchard management rather than a freshly felled material. It's also an exceptionally dense and durable hardwood, which makes it well suited to a wet bathroom environment.

Does it work for shampoo bars as well as soap?
Yes - the draining grooves work for any bar format. Keeping bars lifted out of standing water is the single biggest factor in how long they last.
