100% Biomass Firelighters - If You Care

Non-toxic, plastic-free firelighters made from FSC-certified wood and vegetable oil - no kerosene, no paraffin, no petroleum. Available in a 28-pack cardboard box or 72-pack paper bag.

Most conventional firelighters contain kerosene or paraffin wax - both petroleum derivatives. These contain nothing of the sort. 100% biomass means they're safe to store next to food, and produce no toxic fumes when lit. Each cube burns for 8-10 minutes with the strongest flame in the first five minutes - plenty of time to get wood or charcoal going.

How To Use

Break off the number of cubes needed. Place 3-4 cubes under your wood or on top of charcoal. Light each cube on the fractured side. Each cube burns for 8-10 minutes - the first five minutes produce the strongest flame, which is when your fuel should catch.

FAQs

Why are conventional firelighters a problem?
Most contain kerosene or paraffin wax - both derived from petroleum. They can produce toxic fumes and leave chemical residues, which is particularly relevant if you're cooking over the flame. These contain nothing petroleum-derived.

Which pack size should I choose?
The 28-pack cardboard box is a good starting point or for occasional use. The 72-pack paper bag is better value if you use a fire or BBQ regularly through the year.

Are these suitable for BBQs as well as open fires?
Yes - place the cubes on top of the charcoal and light on the fractured side. The 8-10 minute burn time is more than enough to get charcoal going.
