Organic Savon de Marseille 300g

The original Savon de Marseille - made in Marseille, France for over 600 years with organic olive oil, coconut oil and Mediterranean sea salt. 300g, completely plastic-free, palm-free and 100% natural.

This is one of those rare products where the eco-friendly version and the traditional version are exactly the same thing. Savon de Marseille has been made the same way in the south of France for centuries - long before palm oil, synthetic detergents and plastic packaging existed. Made with just four ingredients and lasting up to six months, it's one of the most versatile and genuinely natural soaps available.

The bar is green when fresh but may turn white over time if not used regularly - this is a sign of quality, caused by the natural Mediterranean salt content. It turns back to green once wet or with regular use.

How To Use

Savon de Marseille is one of the most versatile bars around - here are a few ways to use it:

Laundry: Rub directly onto stained areas before washing, or grate 60g of the bar and dissolve in 2L of boiling water to make a liquid detergent.

Personal washing: Works brilliantly as a shaving bar or for sensitive and acne-prone skin thanks to its simple, oil-based formula.

Washing up: Grate into boiling water to make a dish soap, or rub a brush, cloth or scourer directly onto the bar.

Polishing jewellery: Soak sterling silver in a soapy water mixture for 20 minutes, then buff with a cloth for a natural shine.

Ingredients

Organic olive oil, coconut oil, water, Mediterranean sea salt.

FAQs

Why has my bar turned white?
That's the Mediterranean salt in the formula - it's actually a mark of quality in traditional Marseille soap. The bar will turn back to green when it gets wet or with regular use.

Is it really suitable for all those different uses?
Yes - the simple, oil-based formula makes it genuinely versatile in a way that modern multi-ingredient soaps often aren't. People have been using it for laundry, dishes and personal washing for centuries for exactly this reason.

How long does a 300g bar last?
Up to six months with regular use - significantly longer than most soap bars because of its density and low water content.
