Most 'sustainable' electric toothbrush heads still have a plastic core inside - these don't. The entire head is solid bamboo, and the medium bristles are made from 100% castor oil - plant-based rather than petroleum-based. The bristles are still a plastic material (there's no viable plastic-free alternative yet), but Truthbrush have committed to switching as soon as one becomes available.

Rinse thoroughly after use and store in a dry place. Replace every 3 months or when the bristles show signs of wear.

What makes these different from other 'eco' electric toothbrush heads?
Most recyclable or eco electric toothbrush heads still have a plastic internal core - they just have a different outer layer. These are solid bamboo all the way through, which is a genuinely different approach.

Are the bristles plastic-free?
The bristles are castor oil-based, which is plant-derived rather than petroleum-based - but they are still technically a plastic material. There's no viable fully plastic-free bristle alternative for electric heads yet; Truthbrush have committed to switching as soon as one exists.

How long does each head last?
Dentists generally recommend replacing a toothbrush head every 3 months. A pack of 2 therefore gives you around 6 months of brushing.
