Birthday gifts by post, done properly

When you can't be there for someone's birthday, a box of good things on the doorstep is the next best thing. Every Pear Post box is filled with food and drink from small UK makers we stock in our shop, from Suffolk honey and Essex preserves to Dorset chocolate and Suffolk cocktails.

We pack each box by hand in Clare, Suffolk. The packaging is plastic-free and fully recyclable, right down to the paper tape. Your message is handwritten on a note and tucked in before we seal the box, and there's never an invoice or a price inside, so it can go straight to the birthday girl or boy.

Standard delivery is free on every box with Royal Mail Tracked 48. If the date has crept up on you, Express is £4.99, or order before 12pm for Same Day Dispatch at £8.99. If it might arrive early, add our free "Don't open until" sticker.

Birthday gift box questions

How long does delivery take?

Free standard delivery goes by Royal Mail Tracked 48 and takes 2-4 business days. Express (Tracked 24) is £4.99 and takes 1-2 business days. Same Day Dispatch is £8.99 when you order before 12pm.

Can I send it straight to the birthday person?

Yes. Just enter their address at checkout. There's no invoice or price in the box, and your handwritten message goes in before we seal it.

Some boxes have alcohol in them. Is there anything I need to know?

Boxes with wine, beer, cider or cocktails need someone aged 18 or over to be there to accept the delivery. If that's tricky, boxes such as The Sweet Spot and The Bee's Knees are alcohol-free.
