Bacchus 2023 variant

100% Bacchus from 30-year-old vines, hand-picked and fermented in stainless steel at 16°C. Pale straw with a greenish tint. Elderflower, gooseberry and freshly cut grass on the nose, with citrus and a flinty mineral finish. Residual sugar under 1g/l. Contains: sulphites. Vegan.

Pinot Noir 2023 variant

100% Pinot Noir, oak-aged. Silver Medal winner at the 2025 Independent English Wine Awards. Deep red with blackcurrant fruit, a touch of smoke and spice, and a dry, slightly earthy finish. Contains: sulphites. Vegan.

Which wine should I choose?

If they lean white, go Bacchus, the grape variety that's become England's signature white, and this one's a textbook example: crisp, aromatic, easy to enjoy. If they prefer red, the Pinot Noir won Silver at the 2025 Independent English Wine Awards and is genuinely impressive for an English red, oak-aged with proper depth.

Tell me more about Giffords Hall.

A family-owned vineyard near the village of Hartest in West Suffolk, planted on the site of an ancient glacial riverbed roughly three decades ago. They produce a full range of English wines on the estate, from sparkling through to red, and their Bacchus is stocked by Waitrose. Linda Howard runs the vineyard and brings in a different winemaker each year, an unusual approach that keeps the range evolving.

Is this box vegan?

Yes. Both Giffords Hall wines are vegan and vegetarian. The cornichons and Cajun nuts are also fully vegan.

Is it suitable for nut or peanut allergy sufferers?

Unfortunately not. The Cajun Bayou Chilli Nuts contain peanuts, almonds and cashews. We don't recommend this box for anyone with a nut or peanut allergy. Get in touch if you'd like a bespoke option.
