Something & Nothing launched in 2020 with a simple idea - make a premium soda that actually tastes of something without loading it with sugar or fake sweeteners.

Their answer was to use grape juice and real fruit juices and extracts as the flavour base, keeping calories low without sacrificing taste. The result is a range of lightly sparkling drinks that are distinctly grown-up, genuinely interesting, and far more rewarding than anything that comes in a big branded can.

Available in five flavours - Cucumber, Hibiscus and Rose, Pineapple and Pink Grapefruit, Sicilian Lemon Iced Tea, and Yuzu. All under 60 calories per can, no added sugar, no sweeteners, vegan and gluten-free.

The Flavours

Cucumber - Light, clean and deeply refreshing. Lightly effervescent with a subtle natural sweetness. The one for hot days, long lunches, and mezcal or tequila mixers. Great Taste Award 1 Star.

Hibiscus and Rose - Floral, gently tart and beautifully balanced. Deep red in the can, dry in the finish. Brilliant on its own or with gin and vodka. Great Taste Award 1 Star.

Pineapple and Pink Grapefruit - Sweet tropical pineapple meets bitter-edged pink grapefruit for something bright, bold and a little unexpected. A very good mixer with rum or tequila.

Sicilian Lemon Iced Tea - Black tea and rooibos blended with Sicilian lemon for a clean, complex, grown-up take on lemon iced tea. Lightly carbonated, properly refreshing and unlike anything else in the range.

Yuzu - Yuzu is a Japanese citrus fruit that sits somewhere between grapefruit, tangerine and lemon - aromatic, complex and instantly distinctive. This is the one people always come back to. Great Taste Award 2 Stars.

Which flavour should I try first?
Yuzu if you want something genuinely distinctive - it's the 2 Star Great Taste winner and the one most people find themselves reordering. Cucumber is the most immediately refreshing, and Hibiscus and Rose is the most elegant. You really can't go wrong.

Is there any sugar added?
No added sugar and no artificial sweeteners. The natural sweetness comes from grape juice concentrate and real fruit juices and extracts.

Do these work as mixers?
Really well - Cucumber is brilliant with mezcal or tequila, Hibiscus and Rose pairs beautifully with gin or vodka, Yuzu works with Japanese whisky or vodka, and Pineapple and Pink Grapefruit is excellent with rum. The Sicilian Lemon Iced Tea is more of a standalone but works well with bourbon.

Is the Sicilian Lemon Iced Tea caffeinated?
Yes - it contains black tea extract so has a small amount of natural caffeine. The other four flavours are caffeine-free.
