Saffron Grange is a boutique family vineyard near the historic market town of Saffron Walden, sitting on the same chalk seam that runs from Champagne through Sussex into Essex. The Classic Cuvée is their signature wine and the one that's brought home most of their awards, made in the traditional method from Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier with two and a half years on its lees.

How spicy is the chilli honey?

Properly hot, but balanced. Number Eighteen use a cold-smoking process to infuse the honey with hickory smoke and scotch bonnet without losing the active enzymes that make raw honey what it is. The heat sneaks up on you a beat after the sweetness. Brilliant drizzled over pizza, blue cheese, fried halloumi or a crusty bread and butter situation.

Is this box suitable for vegans?

The wine and the olives are vegan, but the cold-smoked chilli honey contains honey, which makes the box overall vegetarian rather than vegan. Get in touch if you'd like a bespoke fully vegan version.
