Duck Sponge - ecoLiving (UK)

Natural plant cellulose (cotton, wood pulp, flax). Made in the UK. Approximately 10 x 8 x 2.5cm. Machine washable at 30°C or top rack of the dishwasher. Home compostable, plastic-free, vegan. For external use; cut into smaller pieces before composting.

Cotton Face Cloths (pack of 2) - Honey and Co

Two face cloths per pack, approximately 15cm square, 100% cotton. Machine washable. Ideal for baby bath time and soft enough for newborn skin.

Mother Root Ginger Switchel

Organic apple cider vinegar, blossom honey, organic ginger juice, ginger extract, chilli extract. 100% natural, 64% organic. 0.1% ABV. Contains: honey. Vegetarian. Not suitable for babies under 12 months due to honey.

Folkington's Club Soda

Carbonated water, naturally extracted minerals (sodium bicarbonate). No declared allergens. Vegan. Free from preservatives, artificial sweeteners and additives.

FAQs ▾

Is this suitable as a baby shower or new-baby gift?

Yes, designed for exactly that. The Wild and Sage products are essential oil-free and safe for newborn skin, the UK-made duck sponge is natural cellulose and home compostable, and the cotton cloths are gentle for everyday use. Plus Mother Root and Folkington's club soda to give the parent a proper drink at the end of the day.

How is Mother Root meant to be served?

It's a switchel concentrate, designed to be diluted with sparkling water or tonic. We've included a 150ml Folkington's club soda so the first long drink is ready straight from the box. Mother Root makes around 20 servings, so any drinks after that just need a top-up of soda water.

Is Mother Root safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Mother Root sits at 0.1% ABV, well below the legal alcohol threshold, so is classed as non-alcoholic. It contains apple cider vinegar, ginger and a small amount of chilli extract. Some midwives have specific guidance on vinegars and chilli during pregnancy and breastfeeding, so we'd recommend the recipient checks with their own midwife or GP before drinking.

Is Mother Root safe for the baby?

No. Mother Root contains honey, which is not safe for babies under 12 months. This is the reason it's in the box for the parent, not the baby.

Is this suitable for a twin baby gift?
