Bohemian Lager 4.9% | Wylde Sky

Golden, biscuity and clean. A Czech and Bavarian-inspired lager with gentle bittersweet character and an easy finish.

Wylde Sky call this one "deliciously unconventional" and it earns the label. It's Pilsner at heart but brewed in the Munich style, which gives it a slightly fuller, biscuity body compared to a standard pale lager. Low bitterness, clean fermentation and a smooth finish make it dangerously sessionable for something sitting just under 5%.

The kind of lager that makes you wonder why you ever settled for anything from a green bottle. Unfiltered, unfined and unpasteurised, brewed in Linton, Cambridgeshire.

FAQs

What makes it Bohemian?
Bohemian refers to the Czech brewing tradition, particularly the Pilsner style originating in Bohemia. Wylde Sky have taken that base and layered in Munich brewing influences, giving it a slightly richer malt character than a standard Czech Pils.

Is it like a standard lager?
It's cleaner and more characterful than most mass-market lagers. Lower bitterness and a biscuity body make it more interesting without being challenging. A proper pub lager done properly.

How does it compare to the Continental?
The Continental is more aromatic and ale-like with melon and pear hop notes from its Kolsch-style brewing. The Bohemian Lager is cleaner, crisper and more malt-forward. One for hop fans, one for lager fans.
