Field Blend 2024 75cl | Ark Wines
- Low stock - 3 items left
A juicy peach rosé with raspberry, redcurrant and pink grapefruit - crisp and refreshing.
A blend of six grapes - Reichensteiner, Gamay, Bacchus, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay - from Mount Farm in Suffolk, Pimblett Farm in Essex and Chilford Hall Vineyard in Cambridgeshire. Some were fermented on their own and some together, either crushed or whole-bunch pressed, using wild yeasts. The wines were aged on fine lees for 14 months before blending and bottling.
On the nose there's raspberry, redcurrant and British hedgerow, followed by citrus peel, pink grapefruit and pear drops. Crisp and refreshing - perfect on a summer's day.
Contains sulphites (low levels).
Grapes: 52% Reichensteiner, 20% Gamay, 8% Bacchus, 8% Pinot Gris, 7% Pinot Noir, 5% Chardonnay
Dietary: Vegan; unfiltered and unfined - some sediment may be present
What does this wine taste like?
Fresh and fruity - raspberry, redcurrant and hedgerow fruit, with citrus peel, pink grapefruit and pear drops. Crisp rather than sweet.
What is a field blend?
A wine made from a mix of grape varieties rather than just one. Ark's 2024 brings together six varieties from three vineyards, some fermented separately and some together, then blended.
What food does it pair with?
Summer salads, seafood, charcuterie or just a sunny afternoon - it's a light, easy rosé.
What makes Ark Wines different?
Ark is a family-run vineyard in the Stour Valley, planted in 2019 by father-and-daughter team Hans and Amanda. The winery runs entirely on solar power, wastewater is treated through an on-site reservoir, and every wine is made, bottled and packaged on site. None of their wines are filtered or fined.
