Natural Bleach 750g Pouch - Oxygen Bleach / Sodium Percarbonate
Biodegradable, non-toxic oxygen bleach in a home-compostable pouch. A natural alternative to chlorine bleach for laundry, drains, surfaces and general household cleaning.
Oxygen bleach - also known as natural bleach, green bleach or sodium percarbonate - is made from sodium carbonate (soda crystals) and hydrogen peroxide. When dissolved in water above 40°C it releases oxygen, which breaks down stains, brightens whites and disinfects without the toxic fumes or environmental damage of chlorine bleach.
This 750g pouch is packaged in fully home-compostable, plastic-free packaging and is made in the UK. If you're in our local delivery area, you can also get natural bleach refilled at your door - see the local refill page.

How To Use
Laundry: Add 1-2 scoops to your wash at 40°C or above to boost stain removal and brighten whites. For tough stains, dissolve in warm water and soak the item before washing.
Drains: Pour 2-3 tablespoons down the drain followed by hot water. Leave for 15-20 minutes then flush through. Combine with soda crystals for extra cleaning power.
Surfaces and toilets: Dissolve in hot water and use as a soaking solution or surface cleaner. Works well on grout, tiles and heavily stained surfaces.
Note: Oxygen bleach requires water above 40°C to activate fully. Not recommended for wool, silk or items labelled "do not bleach" without spot testing first.
FAQs
Is oxygen bleach the same as green bleach or natural bleach?
Yes - oxygen bleach, green bleach, natural bleach and sodium percarbonate are all the same thing. It's a natural cleaning compound made from sodium carbonate and hydrogen peroxide.
What's the difference between oxygen bleach and chlorine bleach?
Chlorine bleach is caustic and corrosive - it can irritate skin, cause respiratory problems, damage fabrics and is highly toxic to waterways. Oxygen bleach is non-toxic, biodegradable and breaks down into oxygen, water and soda ash, making it safe for the environment and for regular household use.
How does oxygen bleach work?
When dissolved in water above 40°C, it releases oxygen ions that break down stains and organic matter, lifting them from fabric and surfaces without stripping colour or leaving harmful residues.
Is it safe for coloured fabrics?
Yes - unlike chlorine bleach, oxygen bleach won't fade or damage coloured garments when used correctly. Always follow the dosage guidelines and don't exceed the recommended temperature.
Can I use it on delicate fabrics?
It's gentler than chlorine bleach, but we'd recommend spot testing on wool, silk and synthetic blends before using on a full item.
Is it safe for the environment?
Yes - it breaks down into oxygen, water and soda ash with no toxic byproducts or harmful residues. Safe for waterways and septic tanks when used as directed.
Can I get this as a local refill?
Yes - if you're in our local delivery area, head to the natural bleach refill page to get it delivered and refilled at your door.
