Marinade Selection
Lamb Shish variant
Rich and aromatic. Rapeseed oil, roasted red peppers, cider vinegar, garlic, ground cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, oregano and rosemary. Designed to complement red meat: cubes of lamb shoulder or leg, or a Sunday roast lamb shoulder rubbed with the lot. Each jar makes 6-8 portions.
Chicken Shish variant
Lighter and zestier. Roasted red peppers, rapeseed oil, garlic, cider vinegar, paprika, salt, lemon concentrate, black pepper and oregano. For chicken thighs, breasts or a whole roast bird. Each jar covers 6-7 chicken pieces.

Which shish marinade should I choose?
If they grill a lot of red meat, go Lamb. The cumin and rosemary make it a proper match for lamb shoulder cubes, leg, or chops, and it works on a Sunday roast joint too. If chicken's their default, pick Chicken. It's lighter and zestier with a hit of lemon, brilliant on thighs, breasts or a whole roast bird. Both come from the same four-generation North Cyprus family recipe.
Is this a good gift for someone who's serious about the grill?
Very much so. Every item is from an independent UK maker and the box covers most of what a BBQ asks for: a proper burger sauce, two drizzles that double as marinades, the chimichurri mayo for anything off the grill, the burger pickles to do the burger right, a seasoning to dust on everything, and a Turkish marinade for the main event.
Is this box vegan?
Not quite. Most items are vegan, but the Cotswold Gold burger sauce contains free-range egg and the lemon and balsamic drizzle contains honey. The box overall is vegetarian. Get in touch if you'd like a bespoke fully vegan option.
Is it suitable for nut, peanut or mustard allergy sufferers?
Mustard appears in three of the items (the burger sauce, both drizzles and the burger pickles), so this box isn't suitable for mustard allergy sufferers. For nut and peanut allergies, the box doesn't contain nuts or peanuts as ingredients, but the Pinches seasoning is made in a home kitchen that handles tree nuts and peanuts, and the Kebab Club marinades are hand-crafted in an environment that handles nuts.
