Venture is the first beer brewed at Nethergate’s Long Melford home - a modern amber ale that balances classic English malt with punchy new-world hops. At 3.7% it’s a proper session beer: crisp, light and refreshing, but with enough hop character to stay interesting all the way down the glass.
Nugget, Cascade and Ekuanot hops layer in citrus, gentle spice and subtle tropical notes over a smooth amber base, giving a fruity aroma and a clean, hoppy finish.

What does Venture taste like?
Venture is smooth and easy-going, with gentle caramel and biscuit malt backed up by grapefruit, lime and soft tropical fruit notes from the hops. The bitterness is firm but not aggressive, making it an ideal “one more pint” beer.
When should I drink it?
It’s a great all-rounder: ideal with pub classics, burgers, sausages, roast chicken or simply as a pint on its own. At 3.7% ABV it works well for long evenings, BBQs and Sunday lunches.
