Compostable Sponge & Loofah - Seep

A plastic-free, home compostable washing up sponge from Seep - wood pulp sponge on one side, loofah on the other. A proper like-for-like replacement for the standard yellow and green sponge, without the plastic.

We've tried a lot of plastic-free washing up tools and only stock the ones we'd genuinely use ourselves. This one made the cut easily. At end of life, cut it up and add it straight to your home compost pile.

Product Care

Allow to dry between uses. Freshen up in the dishwasher or washing machine at 30-40°C. When it's reached the end of its life, cut it up and compost it.

FAQs

Is it as effective as a regular sponge?
Yes - the wood pulp side works just like a conventional sponge for general washing up, and the loofah side gives you a bit more scrubbing power for tougher jobs.

How do I know when to replace it?
The same as any sponge - when it starts to break down or hold smells even after freshening up. The dishwasher or washing machine refresh extends the life significantly.

Can I use it for cleaning surfaces as well as washing up?
Yes - it works for general surface cleaning too. For tougher scrubbing jobs on pots and pans, the copper scourers are worth having alongside it.
