Cotswold Gold Tartare Sauce

A proper tartare - made with free-range eggs, real chopped gherkins and capers, fresh parsley and Cotswold Gold cold-pressed rapeseed oil.

Most jarred tartare sauces are heavy on the mayo and short on the texture and flavour that should come from gherkins, capers and fresh herbs. Cotswold Gold's version goes the other way - 13% chopped gherkins, 6% capers, fresh parsley, shallots and lemon juice all built around free-range eggs and their own rapeseed oil. The result is tangy, herby and properly textured.

Designed for fish and chips, but just as good with crab cakes, scampi, fish fingers or smoked fish. 150g jar.

  • Made by Cotswold Gold on their family farm in the Cotswolds
  • 13% chopped gherkins and 6% capers for proper texture

FAQs

What's in Cotswold Gold Tartare Sauce?
Free-range eggs, rapeseed oil, real chopped gherkins and capers, fresh parsley, shallots and lemon juice - the way tartare should be made.

What goes well with tartare sauce?
Battered or fried fish, fish fingers, crab cakes, scampi, fishcakes and smoked fish. Also great in a fish finger sandwich.

Is it suitable for vegetarians?
Yes - it contains eggs but no meat or fish. Not suitable for vegans.

How is this different from supermarket tartare?
The chunks of gherkin and caper are larger, the herbs are fresher and the oil is Cotswold Gold's own cold-pressed rapeseed - so the flavour and texture are noticeably better than mass-produced versions.

Does it need refrigerating?
Unopened, no. Once opened, keep it in the fridge.
